Le comité des Jeux olympiques spéciaux pour le Liban, qui a pour
objectif d'habiliter les handicapés mentaux à travers les activités
sportives, a sponsorisé le premier tournoi de basket-ball pour dames.
Le tournoi a été inauguré à Broumana High School sous le haut
patronage et en la présence de la première dame Andrée Lahoud.
Différents pays du monde arabe ont réuni leurs équipes et leurs
entraîneurs pour participer au premier événement de ce genre au liban.
L'association regroupe des bénévoles dévoués, fiers de venir en aide
à ces personnes exceptionnelles. Cette année, le comité des Jeux
olympiques spéciaux pour le Liban s'est associé ç Time4sharing.com,
le mouvement caritatif mondial, en vue de sensibiliser l'opinion
publique et apporter son appui aux Jeux olympiques spéciaux. les jeux
de Broumana sont ouverts au grand public. Tout le monde est invité à
venir appuyer, non seulement l'équipe libanaise, mais également
l'esprit du mouvement en général. Toutes les personnes assistant aux
jeux de 9 à 12h de l'après-midi reçoivent un billet de loterie
gratuit pour un séjour de sept nuitées dans un hôtel aux Etats-Unis,
en Espagne ou à Malte.
"Nous cherchons ainsi à susciter l'intérêt de nouveaux amateurs
pour qu'ils viennent encourager les athlètes", dit Viviane
Boulos-Tolan, fondatrice de Time4sharing.com. En guise d'appréciation,
l'association caritative Boulos-Tolan a créé un site sur le web,
www.specialolympicslb.com, consacré aux jeux olympiques spéciaux pour
le Liban, afin de rendre hommage à tous les athlètes, entraîneurs et
bénévoles. Le site a été dedicacéau nom de la première dame
libanaise Andrée Lahoud pour son précieux appui. Il convient de noter
que c'est la première fois qu'un site Web wst dédié à la première
dame.

The Special Olympics of Lebanon, the organization that empowers mentally challenged persons by placing them into athletic functions, sponsored the First Ladies Basketball Tournament. The Brommana games invited any and all members of the general public to come and support not only the Lebanese team, but also the spirit of the whole movement.
All people attending the games from 9 a.m. to 12 were also offered a free lottery ticket to a free hotel accommodation for 7 nights in the USA, Spain or Malta. "We did this to raise interest from new fans to encourage the athletes", said Vivian Boulos-Tolan, founder of Time4sharing.com. As a special treat, the Boulos-Tolan charity also created a web site for the Special Olympics of Lebanon to pay tribute to all the athletes, coaches and volunteers.
A dedication of the site was in the name of the First Lady, Mrs. Andrée Lahoud, for her precious support. It's noteworthy that this is the first time a web site is dedicated to the First Lady.
